Membership in the Society of Illinois Construction Attorneys is by invitation only.
The purpose of the Society is to facilitate and encourage the association of outstanding Illinois lawyers who are distinguished for their skill, experience and professional conduct in the practicing or teaching of construction law, who are dedicated to excellence in the practice of construction law and who subscribe to the goals and ideals of the Society.
Through the association of such members of the Society in a noncompetitive environment of collegiality and good fellowship, the Society shall provide a forum for its members to exchange experience and knowledge in order to enhance the understanding of the social and economic forces that impact the construction industry; the technical and business practices of the construction industry; and the laws that underlie the construction processes.
Howard Tuner was an original member of SOICA. He was a brilliant construction lawyer, respected by all who crossed his path. His book on Mechanics Liens is a gift to all Illinois lawyers and by extension their clients. Not only was Howard’s knowledge of the law broad and deep, but also a shining example of the Jewish faith. He was a giant in our legal community, and will be missed.
